Rating Summary
It can be a little schmaltzy and repetitive, giving important characters too little time to develop while rushing important plot points, but Ultraman: Rising is not what you expect. Instead of a non-stop strobe light of 100-decibel monster battles, it is one of the last ten year's most heartfelt love letters to the challenges of parenthood, self-sacrifice, and doing what's right over what's easy.
